Review: GM Club Steak, Rockville Center.

Rockville Center is home to many eccentric restaurants on Long Island, one up and coming restaurant is George Martin’s Club Steak located at 13 N Park Ave. Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch there is always a reason to stop in and say hello.

Walking up you might think this is any other restaurant, but once inside you are greeted with an extremely friendly, rustic vibe.

Seated in front of the floor to ceiling windows we were promptly approached by our waitress and asked for our drink order. Since it was Sunday Brunch we quickly decided on Mimosa’s. While waiting for our drinks to arrive we traipsed around the dining area looking at all of the quotes and pictures hanging on the walls. My favorite quote, which was hanging from a handmade wine bottle chandelier read “I just rescued some wine it was trapped in a bottle.” Now those are words everyone should live by.

The menu featured some usual brunch options like the Chicken & Waffles, Yogurt Parfait and Avocado Toast, but also brought many unique items to the table like Creme Brûlée French Toast and Sweet Potato Waffles.

Below are the stand out meals that we tried from the morning!

The Burger Board: 8 oz Ground Beef Burger with Aged Cheddar Cheese, Sweet Onion Jam, Egg Over Easy, Lettuce & Tomato served with a side of crispy Potato Chips. Hanging in the back are two wonderful Bloody Mary’s

Mac & Cheese: Ditalini pasta with Gouda, Cheddar, Gruyère & American Cheese served with a Goldfish crumble on top. My Favorite!

Nutella Ricotta Filled Crepes: Stuffed with Banana Rum Caramel, Maple Whipped Butter, Candied Walnuts and Strawberries. Hit the sweet tooth spot!

dsc_0143Greek Yogurt & Granola Parfait: Greek Yogurt with Toasted Granola, Berries and a Orange Infused Honey Drizzle. The orange drizzle is something that really makes our palet burst with joy.

Overall GM Club Steak has an extremley delicious brunch menu with many options to choose from. My group agreed that the Mac & Cheese was the absolute show stopper of the morning. Our waitress and the bartender were so pleasant to be around with their bubbly personality and that is what I love to see in the morning. For me personality sets the entire mood of my meal. In the near future I will be returning to try out there lunch and dinner options.
